Choose a Healthy, Non toxic, Organic Mattress for Your kids

We recommend these healthy, non-toxic organic mattresses for your children. The following mattresses are a great investment in your child’s health and are designed to keep your child happy, safe and comfortable throughout childhood and beyond.

What’s the difference between traditional innersprings and encased coils?

With traditional innersprings, the coils are connected with metal helicals. Innersprings are not nearly as comfortable as pocketed or encased coils, where the coils float freely in their own fabric pockets. Encased coils allows the unit to conform and contour to your body in a far more comfortable manner.

We have a variety of mattresses with pocketed or encased coils in additional to 2 traditional innerspring mattresses. We also have a pure latex kids mattress without any coils or innersprings – see the Little Lamb Collection below.

Naturepedic Chorus Organic Mattress

The Chorus Organic Mattress is designed with a cushion-firm feel that is ideal for most people. It has a high-density layer of individually wrapped microcoils over premium encased coils to prevent body impressions, promote airflow, dissipate heat, and provide comfortable, supportive pressure point relief. The Chorus contains GOTS certified organic wool and has no latex. It ships compressed and roll packed for easy delivery and set up.  10” depth

The difference between the Chorus and the Verse is that the Chorus uses micro coils over the encased coils, which provides more pressure point relief. The Chorus has wool and is latex-free and the Verse is wool and latex-free.

Little Lamb Organics Kids Collection

The Little Lamb Organics Kids Collection is a unique system of bedding that allows the costs to be broken down over time. The mattress and bedding can be built over the years as your child grows to minimize costs of a quality natural latex mattress. You can add each component over time to accommodate your growing child’s needs.

The Little Lamb System starts with a base layer mattress made with a 100% natural latex core covered in organic cotton quilted with wool. The organic covering has an adorable lamb motif embodying a kids’ playfulness. There are no innersprings or coils in this mattress. Once your child is approximately 65 lbs., a plush wool pillow top can be added as a soft transitional layer. Later, when your child reaches 85-100 lbs., a 2″ soft latex topper can be added in between the wool topper and base mattress if your growing teen needs pressure point relief.  Once the system is complete, your child has a beautiful adult mattress that will give them the full support they need.

Great guide. I think that people may overlook their children’s mattress and that’s a huge mistake! Think how much time (hopefully!) they are spending sleeping/day and it will make you think twice about buying the cheapest available. Thanks for sharing!
