You Are More Than Enough

Are you feeling responsible for too many things in your life? Does it seem like everyone is depending on you? Do you have high expectations of yourself and feel like you never seem to measure up?

Give yourself a break.

Give up trying to be perfect, it’s never going to happen. There is no such thing as perfection in the realm of parenting. It’s messy and chaotic and it can be emotionally draining. It might be the hardest thing you’ll ever do. You may know some moms who seem to have it all together, but if you look deeper, you might find that they have a bunch of flaws too.

No one is getting it right all the time – so it’s time to stop comparing yourself to others! Let go of the need to control others’ perceptions, opinions – and just be you. There is no need to prove yourself to anyone.

This is not a time to have high expectations of yourself. Deep self-acceptance is what’s needed here. Whatever you are doing is enough.

You are more than enough just the way you are, without needing to do or be anything else. I’ll say that again. You are more than enough just the way you are.

How does that feel?

I invite you to make this your ongoing mantra.

“I am more than enough.”

Does it feel silly to say that? Is there another voice inside you saying, No, I’m not enough – because I’m not doing _______ (whatever you feel you should be doing)? We all hold some version of this belief, and it’s time to let it go.

Say these words to yourself every day as often as you remember until that other voice goes away.

“I am more than enough.”
